In a bid to expand its operations, a Peruvian food and beverage company has set its sights on El Salvador as its potential investment destination. Representatives of Industrias San Miguel, a Peruvian company in the food and beverage sector, recently visited various free trade zones in the country to explore possible establishment of operations.

Adriana Mira, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Relations, warmly welcomed the representatives of Industrias San Miguel, expressing El Salvador’s readiness to facilitate their expansion plans within the country.

The meeting, facilitated by El Salvador in Peru and the Directorate of Economic Relations, aimed to familiarize the Peruvian entrepreneurs with the trade and investment potentials offered by El Salvador. This initiative underscores the efforts of both nations to strengthen bilateral economic ties.

During their visit, representatives from Industrias San Miguel engaged with key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Economy and the Investment and Export Promotion Agency of El Salvador (Invest), to understand the business landscape and the procedures for project management.

Additionally, the delegation explored several free trade zones as potential locations for the company’s operations, with plans ranging from initial product commercialization to the establishment of manufacturing facilities.

Tania Alcázar de Añaños, a representative and founder of the company, expressed enthusiasm about the fruitful and intensive discussions held during the visit. «It has been a fruitful and intense journey. We have been briefed and connected with key institutions to navigate the market and invest in El Salvador, and we are very excited,» she stated.

Vice Minister Mira emphasized the interest shown by the South American company in establishing its production headquarters in El Salvador, thereby contributing to the country’s economic development. «Thank you for giving our country an opportunity. We are pleased to know that we are of your total interest, and we are at your service, along with the other entities with whom we work in a coordinated manner for a foreign investment-friendly environment,» she affirmed.

The interest demonstrated by the Peruvian company adds to the growing number of businesses considering El Salvador as an investment destination. These companies are attracted by the country’s social and legal security, as well as its economic and technological development under the leadership of President Nayib Bukele.
