India bound Next-Gen BMW M3 spotted testing: Launch likely in 2019

The next-generation BMW M3 has been spotted testing for the first time on international roads. The car is expected to make its global debut in the second half of the year 2019 due to the fact that the existing F80 model will reach the end of its production in October 2018. Due to heavy camouflage, not much design details could be revealed except for a bunch of facts. The spy image issued by Motor1 only shows the rear portion of the new BMW M3. One can see that the tail lamps have got a new design to make the car look significantly differently from the outgoing model. Also, the roofline of the new BMW M3 now looks like a sedan like as against the coupe like styling on the present generation model. The car is also expected to come with sporty black alloy wheels. The rear bumper and boot lid will also be new along with a fresh quad exhaust set up.

The present day BMW M3 has been around since the year 2014 and has received some timely changes till now. However, a generation update was required and the company felt the need too in order to keep the popularity intact. The next-generation BMW M3 will come based on the company’s CLAR platform and will witness significant weight reduction when compared to the existing model. This has been made possible with the use of high strength steel and more aluminium in the construction of the car.

The new BMW M3 will most likely source its power from a 3.0-litre, twin turbo engine that should churn out power somewhere close to 500 hp. In order to meet with the stricter emission norms, this motor will come with a mild hybrid system. Besides, the engine will also come with a more combative start stop technology to save fuel. The next-gen BMW M3 will likely make its global debut at 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show followed by the official launch in the same year.
